Funny thing: it seems neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney
has a hidden agenda to restructure the economy, or any worry that the pleasing
solutions they’re promising will work. Still, even in a straightjacket, the presidency sure is a better prize now
than it was four years ago.
If Obama wins, he could go down in history as a mediocre
salesman and a great president. If Romney wins, he’ll likely get re-elected.
And neither party will have to modernize their thinking.
How could such unearned, good fortune return to Washington?
An economic boom
in 2015 would nicely do the trick.
Good times without a comprehensive new policy? It doesn’t
feel fair. Yet, life isn’t fair, is it?
